The Post started in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic after the existing community-based print publications withdrew from our community.

One of our key differentiators has been our drive to deliver you the best community journalism we can. To deliver high quality journalism to you meant having journalists at the core of our team.

Stories like “Ku-ring-gai Council’s Luxury Escape…,” “Not too Kean to Solve the Co-Ed High School Dilemma in Hornsby,” and our ongoing coverage of the issues facing our communities by our journalists require solid research and time from Claudia, Riley and the team that support them.

Our advertisers believe in what we deliver to our communities and continue to support our efforts to bring you the real news from within our community.

We also know from your feedback that you appreciate and believe in what we bring you.

In partnership with LINA, our industry body, the Google News Initiative and other industry partners we embarked on a program to improve reader engagement with both the print and digital editions.

The insights we and other hyper-local newsrooms involved in the program gained from working with organisations like Google and the program partners have been nothing short of business changing.

The outcome of this work is to launch initiatives to help you feel part of what we do.

In April, The Post launched the first initiative for the community to support the work of Claudia and Riley the journalists that provide our community with a voice.

The “Buy a journalist a coffee” is the first of these initiatives to be launched. You will have noticed a series of ads in each issue, asking you to “Support Local Journalism, Buy a Journalist a Coffee.” All you do is scan the QR Code and contribute from the price of a coffee to any value you wish.

We would like to thank the members of our community who have contributed to the campaign to date:

  • Cedric Spencer,
  • Jason King,
  • Philippa Benson,
  • avid Wilson,
  • Sherry Cook,
  • Gabrielle Collerson,
  • Sandra Barton,
  • Petrus van Deursen,
  • Rebekah Sestan,
  • Lorraine Martinovich,
  • Nicolette Boele,
  • Lesley Tinkler,
  • John Cameron,
  • Simon Eastman,
  • Erica Booker.

Your support helps The Post hold those in positions of power across our communities accountable for their actions.

If you like what you read online or in print, you can help us continue providing independent journalism without fear or favour by making a contribution.
