Entries open for the Hornsby Art Prize.

Artists are welcome to enter into the Hornsby Art Prize from Monday 2 June.

Well-recognised and popular, this art prize promotes Australian contemporary art, where artists can submit their works. Categories range from painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, and sculpture. From a pool of $23,000, the major prize is worth $10,000, with the rest split among other winners.

Entries are open until Thursday 7 August, costing $40. All artworks must have been produced in the past two years and not exhibited before in an art prize. The Hornsby Art Prize is open to all Australian residents aged 18 and over.

‘The Hornsby Art Prize provides our residents with a fantastic opportunity to experience contemporary art of the highest calibre in our own local area,’ said Hornsby Shire Mayor Warren Waddell.

Hornsby Art Prize is sponsored by Hornsby Shire Council and delivered in partnership with the Hornsby Art Society. Hornsby residents can also nominate their work for the Hornsby Shire Local Art Award.

The Hornsby Art Prize Finalists’ Exhibition will be held at Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre from 12 September until 28 September 2025.
