More than 30 NSW Rural Fire Service volunteers were recently celebrated for their service battling fires both in the state and across Australia.
Among the honoured volunteers was David Stockman from the Galston Brigade and the Support Brigade. David received the National Medal 3rd Clasp for 45 years of service.
In 1978, David joined the Galston Brigade and after 25 years continues to serve the community as the Brigade Station Officer.
Sacha Price was acknowledgment for her 30 year service with the Long Service Medal 2nd Clasp. Joining the Berowra Brigade at the age of 15 in 1991, Sacha is part of the Districts Senior Leadership Team and a member of the Muogamarra Brigade.
‘Many RFS members go above and beyond for their brigades, local community, and further afield and it is fitting to recognise the dedication they all show,’ said RFS Commissioner Rob Rogers.
‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank the families, employers and support networks of RFS volunteers, without whom we could not be as resilient and effective in our mission to support and protect lives and property.’
