The highly contested seat for the Mayoral spot at Hornsby Shire Council has a new occupant.
Announced by the NSW Electoral Commission, the results of the Mayoral vote from the Local Government Elections show Shire residents voting in Liberal candidate Warren Waddell to serve as their Mayor.
This will be Waddell’s first appointment as Mayor, and his third time on Council. Previously, Waddell had served as the Councillor for Ward A and briefly as Deputy Mayor.
‘It is a great honour and a privilege to be chosen to serve my community and to represent the interests of the people of Hornsby Shire,’ says Mayor Waddell. ‘I am looking forward to take the next step ensuring Hornsby Shire continues to thrive.’
The first General Meeting of Hornsby Shire Council will be held on Wednesday the 23rd of October at 6.30PM.
