Members of SI Hornsby held another very successful fundraiser for the Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter in September last year.  Raffle tickets were sold to raise funds as well as members holding afternoon teas for friends to come along to in their own homes.

The total raised for the shelter came to $7000. A great result!

The funds will be used to help the residents access much need psychological support which many of them are not able to pay for as they do not have access to Medicare cards being asylum seekers and refugees.

The club has been supporting the women’s shelter for 10 years since it opened and has raised an impressive $82,000 in that time.

Soroptimist International is the leading international volunteer organisation for women working through service projects to educate, enable and empower the lives of women and girls worldwide.
