Womn-Kind, a prominent mental health organisation, has recently appointed Wahroonga resident Maddie Duffy as a National Youth Advisor.
This move highlights the importance of including young people’s voices in discussions surrounding mental health, especially considering new data that reveals 82% of young Australians worry about the well-being of at least one friend.
According to Womn-Kind’s research, 81% of young people experience feelings of inadequacy weekly, while 64% view mental health as their peers’ primary concern. Founder and Director, Ruby Riethmuller, emphasises the urgency of addressing this crisis and the necessity of engaging young people in mental health discourse.
Maddie Duffy appreciates the opportunity to contribute to Womn-Kind’s efforts, stating that young people possess valuable insights that can enhance decision-making processes.
