SUMMARY:Re-Imagine Education: Blue Gum Community School Open Day
DESCRIPTION:Discover a Joyful\, Hopeful Option for Your Child\nAt Blue Gum Community School\, we represent a new and hopeful option for families in and around Hornsby. We invite you to step inside our beautifully designed spaces and discover a small\, not-for-profit community school that places rich learning encounters\, creativity\, exploration\, collaboration\, relationships\, and joy at the centre of every day. \nOur Open Day is the perfect opportunity to experience how our unique\, strengths-based educational approach comes to life for both Preschool and Primary students. \nWhat Makes the Blue Gum Approach Unique?\nLearning Through Hands-On Research: Our curriculum invites children to take an active role in their own learning. We create daily opportunities for students to pursue deep understanding and knowledge through questioning\, research\, and collaborative projects. \nA Personalised\, Strengths-Based Environment: We believe every child can be successful. Instead of a one-size-fits-all model\, children’s individual interests and passions drive their learning\, opening up unlimited research possibilities. \nCitizens of the Present: We see even our youngest children as citizens of the present; citizens with rights\, responsibilities\, and highly valued voices. We recognize them as budding mathematicians\, writers\, scientists\, artists\, and thinkers. \nA Strong Arts Focus: We integrate the arts as crucial languages for understanding\, interpreting\, and connecting with the world around us. \nTeachers as Mentors: Our exceptional quality educators see their role as walking closely alongside children\, lending them strategies and skills along the way to enrich their learning journeys. \nGrounded Yet Globally Connected: We highly value our Australian context\, environment\, and inheritance\, while simultaneously connecting globally to share with and learn from progressive educators around the world.

SUMMARY:Australia\, International Law and Armed Conflict
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Parliamentarians are making decisions today that will define Australia’s compliance with international law in years ahead. From sanctions and arms exports to humanitarian aid and recognition of states\, choices made now carry real legal and political consequences. \nJoin us in person for a discussion on Australia’s role and responsibilities under international law during armed conflicts. \nAdjunct Professor Chris Sidoti is a leading human rights advocate and legal expert. He served as Australian Human Rights Commissioner (1995-2000)\, Australian Law Reform Commissioner (1992-1995) and was the founding Director of the Australian Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (1987-1992). Internationally\, he was a member of the UN Fact-Finding Mission on Myanmar (2017-2019) and currently is a Commissioner on the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory\, including East Jerusalem\, and Israel. \nProfessor Emily Crawford is an internationally recognised expert in international law at Sydney Law School\, specialising in international humanitarian and criminal law. In 2023\, she was awarded the Max Plank-Cambridge Prize for International Law for her outstanding research contributions. \nThis event is co-hosted by Amnesty International Australia and the ANU Law School. You are welcome to come early for drinks and nibbles from 5:45 pm in the foyer and bar area of the Zenith Theatre and/or stay after the lecture\, when we will be sharing a light supper with Commissioner Sidoti and Professor Crawford. \nAny monies received in excess of costs for this series of lectures will be donated equally to Médecins Sans Frontières\, UNICEF and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights. \nRead the article[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row]
