I can hardly believe how quickly this year is flying by, but July is already upon us! It is shaping up to be a truly fabulous month across our community, and there is so much to do, see, and read about in this edition.
For those looking for some lively local entertainment, the famous Bastille Festival is kicking off from July 16 to 19 in The Rocks. It is always packed and brimming with incredible food, wine, and culture, so make sure you head down and soak up the atmosphere!
Championing a National Cause
In late June, I went to Chatswood Concourse for an interview that left me deeply moved. I met with Stan Ghys, a local advocate who is on a passionate, voluntary mission to raise $1 million and vital awareness for Mission Australia to combat homelessness.
Stan has coordinated a beautiful and powerful new song called Homeless, and you will find all the exclusive details about his grassroots project right here in our feature pages. I am incredibly proud to do my part in sharing this story to help address an escalating crisis that largely impacts women and children fleeing domestic and family violence.
It truly never ceases to amaze and inspire me when I meet incredible people like Stan, who are employed full-time yet dedicate all their free hours to fixing important issues in Australia. We are running this feature ahead of our August edition because I would love to invite anyone who wants to join Stan’s campaign to reach out before Homelessness Week officially begins in early August.
Please, take the time to read the feature and consider making a donation. It doesn’t matter how much it is – every single dollar counts and builds toward that $1 million goal.
