Ku-ring-gai Chamber of Commerce Marks 25 Years of Impact

Celebrating a 25-year milestone, the Chamber continues to unite, advocate for, and empower Upper North Shore professionals.

Key Takeaways

  • 25-Year Milestone: Revitalised by a dedicated committee in 2022, the Ku-ring-gai Chamber of Commerce now supports nearly 80 active members and is a driving force across the Upper North Shore.
  • Consistent Connection: Members benefit from two monthly networking events in Roseville and Wahroonga, fostering genuine professional camaraderie and collaborative referral mapping.
  • Community Advocacy: Beyond standard networking, the Chamber leads major initiatives like the 2026 Energy Summit, federal election candidate forums, and policy advocacy across all tiers of government.
  • Shop Local Initiative: The dedicated Shop Local Ku-ring-gai platform significantly boosts the online visibility of local members, ensuring community spending directly benefits local families and enterprises.

There’s something genuinely exciting about reaching a 25-year milestone – and for Ku-ring-gai Chamber of Commerce, this anniversary reflects not just longevity, but real impact on the Upper North Shore business community.

When a dedicated committee of talented professionals came together at the beginning of 2022 to reinvigorate the Chamber post-COVID, the intent was clear: rebuild something that genuinely served the local business community.

That effort has paid off. Today, Ku-ring-gai Chamber has 77 members and is actively working toward 100  – a testament to what’s possible when like-minded people commit to showing up for each other.

Two Events a Month. Real Connections.

At the heart of the Chamber are two monthly networking events running across Roseville and Wahroonga. The evening networking on the second Wednesday of each month and the Coffee Session on the fourth Thursday give members a consistent, accessible way to connect with fellow professionals throughout the year.

What strikes you when you walk into a Ku-ring-gai Chamber event is the atmosphere. These aren’t transactional networking rooms – there is genuine camaraderie between professionals who are invested in helping each other grow. Members share referrals, open doors and show up for one another. That culture doesn’t happen by accident; it’s been built deliberately over time.

Bigger Events. Broader Impact.

The Chamber has also taken a leading role in events that matter to the wider community. Recent highlights include the Meet the Candidates event ahead of the 2025 Federal Election, the Energy Summit 2026 in collaboration with EnergyZE North Shore, and a Small Business Forum bringing business owners and government representatives into the same room. These aren’t just ‘nice to have’ events — they represent the Chamber doing what a chamber of commerce should do: connecting the business community with the conversations and decision-makers that shape their environment.

And if you’ve experienced the Rapid Connections Speed Networking session, you’ll know the energy in the room is something else entirely. The air is a buzz. So much talking, so much connecting — it is one of those events where you walk away having met more people in 90 minutes than you might in months of regular networking.

Shop Local Ku-ring-gai: Because Local Spending Makes a Real Difference

One of the initiatives the Ku-ring-gai Chamber is most proud of is Shop Local Ku-ring-gai, which has its own dedicated website showcasing local businesses across the area. The premise is straightforward but powerful: when you spend locally, your money goes further and makes more difference. It benefits actual families and individuals — the people behind those businesses. The platform improves online visibility and searchability for members and signals clearly that these businesses are part of a connected, supported community.

Awards, Recognition and the EXPO

Ku-ring-gai Chamber is a proud partner of both the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Business Awards and the North Shore Business Awards. This is a valued partnership that allows us to support members in raising their profiles and being recognised as leaders in their fields. If you’ve ever thought about entering an award but weren’t sure where to start, the Chamber can assist with the nomination and recognition process.

This year’s Ku-ring-gai Local Business EXPO 2026, held on a Saturday afternoon at St Ives Community Centre, brought together active local businesses and the broader community in an energetic, enthusiastic atmosphere. Meeting the people behind local businesses can make all the difference –  and events like this are exactly what a healthy, engaged business community looks like.

Advocacy That Counts

Underpinning all of this is our ongoing advocacy with all three tiers of government. The Upper North Shore business community deserves to have its voice heard where decisions are made — and ensuring that happens is a core part of what we do.
