Welcome to November. As the days warm and our calendars begin to fill, this month brings a gentle yet powerful reminder to pause, reflect, and look out for one another.
November is truly a month for remembering – not only honoring our history, but acknowledging the people and causes that strengthen our local community today.
First and foremost, we pause on 11 November for Remembrance Day.
At 11 am, we stop to honor the brave men and women who served and sacrificed for our nation. Taking those quiet moments of silence keeps their memory alive and reminds us of the profound cost of peace.
Alongside solemn reflection, November is also about active care. You will no doubt spot a few extra moustaches around the North Shore as locals embrace Movember.
Beyond the fun facial hair, it is a vital movement raising awareness for men’s mental health, suicide prevention, and prostate and testicular cancer. It is a timely prompt to check in on the men in our lives and ask how they are really doing.
We are also thrilled to celebrate our incredible local Westfield Local Heroes this month. These unsung champions devote their time and energy to making our region a safer, kinder, and more inclusive place. Their dedication reminds us of the extraordinary impact one person can have.
Finally, remembering our community means looking out for those experiencing extreme hardship. I encourage everyone to turn to our community pages and join the ‘Postcard Campaign’. By taking a minute to send a postcard to the Premier, you can add your voice to the urgent call to end homelessness across NSW.
Together, let us make this November a month of meaningful memory, deep gratitude, and positive local impact.
Take Part in the Postcard Campaign
