The Post would like to thank everyone who came along to our Biggest Morning Tea on Thursday 18 May at Roseville Club. The Roseville Club did a fabulous job of hosting this event and were very attentive to our guests.
We always appreciate seeing our local members supporting charity and The Post, and this occasion was no exception with Julian Leeser – Member for Berowra attending, along with Paul Fletcher – Member for Bradfield and Tim James – Member for Willoughby. We were fortunate to have all three Mayors enjoy the morning with us including Mayor Philip Ruddock from Hornsby Shire, Mayor Jeff Pettett from Ku-ring-gai and Mayor Tanya Taylor from Willoughby City.
The Post set a fundraising goal of $5,000 and we reached this goal and raised $6,000. This is thanks to the wonderful support we received from our Gold Sponsor – the Community Bank of Turramurra and Lindfield, our Silver sponsors being Ray White Upper North Shore and Willoughby City Council. We also appreciate the support we received from our bronze sponsors; Senior Helpers, Atria Dental and YourSide in partnership with the Carers Gateway. Thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters in making this such a wonderful morning tea.
We received support from many local businesses by way of prizes for our raffle tickets.

Thank you to the Wahroonga Craft Group again this year as they donated to our Biggest Morning Tea. This year Tina Brown had the pleasure of a cup of tea with these lovely ladies whilst they were busy crafting at the Presbyterian Church in Wahroonga, she even came away with some delicious lemon butter!
The group have been meeting since 2001 and enjoy making many crafts including calligraphy, painting, embroidery, patchwork and fabric painting. Over the years they have raised funds for important community causes such as Bear Cottage, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, Farmers in Drought, UPA Nursing Home, Belvedere Nursing Home and many more.
The Post thanks them for their donation of $800.
“During the morning tea I had several conversations with people who have either been through cancer themselves or have cared for someone who has recovered from cancer. Cancer touches every community, that’s why I believe it’s important to continue to raise awareness and fundraise for the Cancer Council.” Tina Brown.
I hope everyone enjoyed hosting their morning teas in support of the Cancer Council throughout May.
We were delighted to have Jo Marx (pictured above) from ‘it’s about us’ speak at the morning tea and her not for profit, which is the vision of Associate Professor Gavin Marx.
it’s about us was inspired by Prof. Gavin Marx patients’ courage, wisdom, insights and clarity of what truly is important and meaningful. We will share more with you about Jo’s work in the coming editions of The Post.
Once again we also thank Cesar Ocampo (Ocampo Studios). Cesar ducked out of shooting Fashion Week to be our photographer for the morning and has provided all photo’s appearing on this page.
