What is a Community Bank?

Is a Community Bank really that different to other banks?  The answer is Yes!

A Community Bank’s primary point of difference from all other banks is its involvement in and support of the community – and, of course, fabulous personal service.

The Community Bank model was created by Bendigo Bank back in 1988 to support country towns that were left without a bank as one after the other, branches closed their doors.

The closure of the local bank branch led to a downturn for all local businesses and a lot of inconvenience for everyone. In partnership with Bendigo Bank, communities themselves stepped up, raising the capital to make each Community Bank a reality.  This model has also proved valuable for communities like ours.

The Turramurra and Lindfield Community Bank has been operating in Turramurra for 18 years and in Lindfield for 10 years.

We are a locally run franchisee of Bendigo Bank, owned by local shareholders. Our highly skilled board of directors are all volunteers, and our staff are passionate about supporting this community.

Your banking makes a difference.

Up to 80% of our profits each year are given back to our community via donations, sponsorships, grants, and dividends to our local shareholders.  You can read more about your local Community Bank at www.tlcbb.com.au or call in at either the Turramurra or Lindfield branch.

We can’t wait to meet you.
