Editors Word, Welcome to January!

Exciting and daunting: it’s 2025! January’s are notorious for feeling that universal itch to start fresh, set new goals, and upgrade ourselves to better, more refined versions.

So, to scratch our own itch, we here at The Post decided to kick off the new year by changing up our look. A facelift, if you will. Let me know how you feel about our new layout!

I hope everyone had a restful and joyous holiday break. My favourite part is always midnight Christmas mass, and the food my grandmothers always lovingly prepare (and I ravenously eat).

For this edition, we take a look at what our North Shore schools achieved in 2024, how Australia Day is being celebrated, and our publisher Tina Brown has a column talking about the cost of living.

Inside, the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community College course guide is included, which you can find in the centre of the publication.

Flipping through, a review of the Imperial Ice Stars’ “Swan Lake On Ice” performance can be found, and an exclusive giveaway of Kintsugi Heroes new book, “Connecting Seniors”. Email us for a chance to grab a copy!

News on affordable housing in Hornsby, rate increases in North Sydney, and a rundown of the situation with Devonshire Childcare Centre in Willoughby are filtered throughout this edition.

We spoke to Scott Harris from Afterlife Funerals to discuss the funeral industry, and the exorbitant cost of dying.

Australia Day is upon us – a last hurrah before school starts up again. I hope the day is filled with fun for everyone!

Until the next edition,

Claudia
