This year, the World Health Organization has designated the 2025 theme to be, “Changing mindsets: Empower yourself to make ear and hearing care a reality for all!”

By 2030, over 500 million people across the globe are slated to have disabling hearing loss.

World Hearing Day as a campaign is an effort to have people recognise the importance of their ear health, and to inspire people to change behaviour to protect their hearing.

By increasing public awareness of hearing care, WHO hope to reduce the stigma of hearing loss and encourage regular check-ups, using protection, and using hearing-assistive technology.

Early intervention, rehabilitation, and adopting good hearing practices will lead to the highest potential hearing retention in those experiencing hearing loss.
