WITH the 2021/22 season taking it’s Christmas break in the Men’s and Women’s Premier Cricket competitions, Northern Districts Cricket Club is sitting pretty in both the Men’s and Women’s First Grade competition, while Gordon District Cricket Clubs will be looking at the break as a time to refocus after a challenging start to the season.
On the Men’s side Northern Districts are 7 from 7 in the Belvidere Cup, and will go into the break leading the competition, while Gordon sit 11th with only 3 wins, 7 points outside the top 6. Gordon’s Taj Brar is one of the top run scorers for the first half of the season, 4th on the leaderboard with 311 runs, and his teammate Dylan Hunter in 8th with 273. Northern Districts top run scorer is Scott Rodgie with 269. Scott is also the leading wicket taker in the Belvidere Cup with 17 wickets, with teammate Ross Pawson in 9th with 12 wickets. Both teams unfortunately have failed to make the Kingsgrove Sport T20 Semi Finals.
The Northern Districts Women’s side is also towards the top of the ladder, currently equal 2nd, while the Gordon Women’s side is 9th, without a win so far this season. Sophie Martland the best of the individual stats from both sides, the Gordon bowler in equal 7th with 6 wickets.
