Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney have opened a new Lifeline Shop in Northbridge.
On the 7th of November, the new store was unveiled for the Willoughby electorate, on the corner of Sailors Bay Road and Harden Avenue.
Their seventh Lifeline Shop, the suicide prevention charity procured the location six weeks earlier, renovating the 100-year-old building to be fit for the goods to be sold at the store.
In attendance was Member for Willoughby, Tim James, Mayor of Willoughby City Council, Tanya Taylor, and Willoughby Councillors John Moratelli and Sarah Royds. Community leaders Rachel Blazey President of the Northbridge Progress Association, and Glenda Hewitt President of the Artarmon Progress Association were both in attendance.
Lifeline H2HS have stores in Asquith, Gladesville, Lane Cove, Naremburn, Pennant Hills, and Waitara. Inside, customers can find vintage one-off pieces, high quality preloved goods, and a range of retro donated items. All proceeds help raise funds to support Lifeline’s work in the suicide-prevention space, and fuel their mission of an Australia free of suicide.
From clothing, homeware, décor and furniture, donating items to Lifeline Shops is a two-pronged approach. It saves both the lives of people in our communities, as well as safeguards against unnecessary waste ending up in landfills.
‘We really appreciate all that Lifeline does in our community, supporting people on the edge… this shop isn’t just a place to find quality items, it is a place of connection and a safe haven,’ says Mayor Tanya.
‘It feels like home. It has that sense of warmth and welcomeness, it is an interesting place. It is a special place for retail,’ says Tim James.
