THE Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) in St Ives has been awarded over $12,000 by the Minn’s Government.
Under the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership program, the funds awarded will be used to sand the floors of the CPA St Ives Lifestyles centre.
CPA is a registered NDIS service provider, enhancing the lives of people with cerebral palsy by delivering opportunities, individualised support and youth programs, hosting art exhibitions and musical performances, and volunteering roles at local businesses, while advocating for local council accessibility.
Member for Davidson, Matt Cross, was recently given a tour of the Lifestyles centre in St Ives by a CPA client, and attended their in-house performance of “The World on Wheels”, the newest production by Performing Hearts Theatre. Eight people from the CPA created and performed the show, promoting the representation of people with disability in the art world. Funds from the performance went to continuing to positively impact the lives of people with cerebral palsy.
‘Thank you to the Cerebral Palsy Alliance for helping bring our community together,’ says Member Matt Cross. ‘I’m proud to support the Cerebral Palsy Alliance. The grant to upgrade their floor at St Ives will make a real difference for clients.’
Member Cross praises the fundraising production, recommending the community attend the showing of “The World on Wheels” at the Sydney Opera House on the 29th of November.
‘I encourage everyone to support the Cerebral Palsy Alliance’s fundraising efforts by attending their performances at St Ives and the world-famous Sydney Opera House,’ he says.
