Officeworks is holding its annual Make A Difference Appeal, where money is raised for local causes. This June, Ku-ring-gai Youth Development Service (KYDS) will be a recipient of the Appeal.
Throughout June, North Sydney and Northern Beaches customers are encouraged to donate in store or online. Local participating stores include Belrose, Chatswood, North Ryde, Dee Why, Mona Vale, Mosman, and West Ryde.
KYDS is a community-based charity that offers comprehensive, free counselling for young people, and aims to break the barrier of mental health support for those in need. The funds raised through Officeworks’ Appeal will be delivered to KYDS for the charity to continue helping young people aged 10 to 18.
‘The earlier a young person reaches out for help, the sooner they get back on track,’ says Carol Simpson, KYDS CEO. ‘KYDS plays an important role in this early intervention space but also fills a gap in the mental health system, allowing young people who need ongoing mental health support for more complex challenges to get that vital support. We’re thrilled to be part of this Appeal and very thankful to Officeworks and the community for their support of youth mental health.’
The Make a Difference Appeal is part of the People & Planet Positive Plan Officeworks has committed to. Last year, the Appeal raised over $830,000 for local causes across Australia.
