Sydney Adventist Hospital (the San) in Wahroonga are searching for Upper North Shore residents living with Type 2 diabetes to join a 12-week research program.
Last year, the San established the ELIA Lifestyle Medicine Centre, with a team full of physicians, dietitians, exercise physiologists, nurses, psychologists, and health coaches.
The Diabetes Clinical Program is free for eligible participants and offers a wholistic approach to wellness for patients to maximise their health goals.
‘We have been really excited to see patients achieve some great results,’ says Dr Andrea Matthews, Medical Director of the Centre.
Traditionally, Type 2 diabetes has been seen as a chronic, irreversible illness. Recent research shows that Type 2 diabetes may be prevented, halted, or remitted through healthy lifestyle habits.
