Legacy Week is upon us.
For 82 years, Legacy Australia have been holding the week-long event to raise awareness and funds to assist veterans and their families. From the 1st to the 7th of September, Legacy are urging Australians to honour and support our Defence Force heroes.
‘Legacy Week is a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility we have towards those who have served our country,’ says President of Sydney Legacy, Ian Thompson. ‘By supporting their families, we honour the legacy of their service and ensure that their sacrifices are never forgotten.’
During Legacy Week, volunteers will be out across the country, offering the community Legacy badges when they donate to the cause. Funds raised will go towards providing essential services to combat isolation, educational support by way of school fees, tertiary scholarships, and extracurricular activities, and advocacy for pension entitlements.
Legacy volunteers will be across the Northern Beaches this September.
Locations include Dan Murphys Manly Vale, Dan Murphys Frenchs Forest, Manly Wharf, Woolworths Balgowlah, Bunnings Balgowlah, Bunnings Belrose, Dee Why Plaza, Glenrose Village, Forestway Shopping Centre, War Vets RSL, and Belrose Hotel.
