The Post would like to thank everyone who attended our International Women’s Day event at Magpies Waitara on the 8th of March.

Along with celebrating women, The Post was donating proceeds to the Ku-ring-gai Youth Development Service, a local charity providing free counselling to children and teens across the community. By donating funds to KYDS, The Post hopes to continue the essential services KYDS provides running for our young people in need.

Special thanks to Helen Jarvis, Chair of KYDS for attending the morning tea. It was lovely to have friend of The Post, Karen Humphries  in attendance given how busy she is, it’s always important to connect with other women on this important day.

With the morning tea tickets and raffle ticket sales, our event was able to raise $700 for KYDS. Along with this, The Post is matching the money to donate $1,400 for the charity.

The Post would like to thank those who contributed to our raffle prizes – Bar Infinito, a new restaurant in Gordon, for donating a $150 dining voucher; Kiplings Garage Bar for a $50 dining voucher; Berowra Spa Rooms for the 3.5 hour Spa Experience; O’Loughlin’s Medical Pharmacy in St Ives for a gift pack; and Jacqueline Wright for a hamper pack, including her “Awaken Your Divine Feminine” poetry book, and two $100 gift cards with Rebel and Super Retail.

The Post thanks Cristina Davy, the event’s keynote speaker, for the inspiration and insightful discussion on women, masculinity and femininity, and the dating world of highly successful women. Sharing her wisdom and knowledge, Cristina explained the necessity of being present in innate feminine energy – for the betterment of women and for the betterment of the relationships women have.

The Post thanks Jacqueline Wright, local poet and author, for sharing her poetry and story. Jacqui captures the essence of femininity in her poetry, exploring the beauty and strength in women and girls. Her poetry can be found in the co-authored book “Awaken Your Divine Feminine” which features Jacqui’s work and the work of other female poets.

The Post thanks Member for Berowra, Julian Leeser, for his attendance and support of our local fund-raising event. Engaging with and contributing in community projects is often the sign of a stable, well-meaning politician.

International Women’s Day uplifts and recognises women, who deserve our appreciation. The Post hope we were able to show our respect to every woman and girl.
