Now in its prestigious 42nd year, the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra (KPO) NSW Secondary Schools Concerto Competition comes to its spectacular climax. Attracting close to 100 exceptionally gifted entrants from years 7–12 across NSW and the ACT, a panel of professional musician judges have narrowed the field down to just six elite finalists.
Widely regarded as a vital stepping stone to national and international musical success, this annual showcase gives young prodigies the rare and invaluable opportunity to perform as featured soloists accompanied by a full symphony orchestra. Led by Artistic Director and Conductor Dr Paul Terracini, the afternoon promises dynamic, world-class performances that assert a bright, vibrant future for live classical music.
Come witness these incredible young artists compete for a combined prize pool of $12,000 and coveted future performance opportunities. Previous winners of this esteemed competition include renowned music icons Simon Tedeschi, Amy Dickson, and Alexander Gavrylyuk.
