Hornsby Relay For Life: The Heartbeat of Hope

Relay For Life is more than just a 24-hour community event—it’s a movement of hope, resilience, and connection. And at the heart of it all is a dedicated committee who make the Hornsby Relay for Life possible.

This year, Hornsby Relay will mark its 21st anniversary on Saturday 1st – Sunday 2nd November 2025. Over two days, our community will come together at Rofe Park, Hornsby Heights, to

celebrate survivors and carers, remember loved ones, and raise vital funds for cancer research and support services.

But behind the tents, entertainment, and inspiring ceremonies is a team of volunteers who pour their hearts into making Relay happen. Our committee members are more than just organisers – they’re family. Many have walked their own journeys with cancer, either personally or as carers, and they bring that experience, empathy, and passion to every decision.

They work tirelessly all year to create an event that is safe, inclusive, and meaningful. They plan the Survivors and Carers Morning Tea, organise live music, food stalls, and kids’ activities, and ensure the moving Hope Ceremony shines a light on why we Relay. Most of all, they love sharing their own stories and encouraging others to join in—whether by forming a team, walking a lap, or simply coming along to soak up the spirit of hope.

Without these incredible committee members, Hornsby Relay for Life simply wouldn’t happen. Their dedication ensures that every candle lit, every lap walked, and every dollar raised makes a difference for those impacted by cancer.

So, when you see the purple shirts at Rofe Park this November, know that behind them is a family of volunteers who make this event truly special.
