As reported by The Post on our Social Media last night the Mayor of Hornsby Shire Council delivered a Mayoral Minute to the Council Meeting that the General Manager, Mr Steven Head, had resigned suddenly last week.
The Post has received information that the Mayor has allegedly kept councillors in the dark over the reasons for Mr Head’s sudden and immediate departure.
Hornsby Shire released a media statement advising “that it has formally accepted the resignation of General Manager Steven Head, who has made the decision to step down from his role for personal reasons.
Mr Head has served as General Manager since 2018, bringing a wealth of experience from senior roles in metropolitan Sydney councils and the NSW Government. Over the past six years, he has made a significant and lasting contribution to Hornsby Shire, helping to shape its future through a number of transformative projects and initiatives.”
Mr Head and former Mayor Philip Ruddock AO had been supporters of The Post since the idea of a hyper-local newspaper was discussed with them in the middle of the COVID 19 pandemic in July August 2020. The Post thanks Mr Head for his long term support of our endeavours.
Council appointed Glen Magus, Director Corporate Support, as Acting General Manager.
The Post will be investigating this matter and will keep the community informed of what we discover, that can be reported. Look for more in the next edition of The Post.
