Hornsby Shire Council celebrated local community organisations marking significant anniversaries in 2025 with a special event at the Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre.
These organisations were invited to ‘Civic Reception’ on Thursday 18 September, where community leaders, groups, and volunteers were brought together to recognise their impact on the Hornsby Shire.
The Post Sydney were kindly invited for our 5th year milestone. We, along with the other organisations celebrating a birthday, were presented with a certificate to acknowledge the work done to service our local communities.
Councillor Janelle McIntosh, while Deputy Mayor, conceptualised the idea to have Council bring these organisations together, which was welcomed by Mayor Warren Waddell.
‘Our Shire is fortunate to be home to a rich and diverse network of community organisations—sporting clubs, cultural associations, service groups and volunteer networks—that bring people together, support those in need, and help make Hornsby the strong and connected community it is today,’ said Mayor Waddell.
