Ku-ring-gai Council has partnered with Dress for Success to help women on their journey to employment and financial independence through a month-long community clothing drive.
Dress for Success provides women with professional clothing, career support and mentoring to help them build confidence and take the next step toward economic security.
Mayor Christine Kay said the initiative is a practical way for residents to make a real difference.
“I encourage everyone to look inside their wardrobe, because even a single item could help a woman in need,” Mayor Kay said. “Your donation is more than clothing, it’s the first step toward opportunity, self-sufficiency and empowerment.”
Residents are invited to donate high-quality professional attire and accessories until Friday 24 October at the following drop-off points:
- Gordon Library, 799 Pacific Highway
- Lindfield Library, 265 Pacific Highway
- Turramurra Library, 5 Ray Street
- Ku-ring-gai Neighbourhood Centre, St Ives Shopping Village
Items most in demand include handbags, shoes, workwear, jackets, accessories, and new unopened toiletries.
Dress for Success supports women at vulnerable life stages from preparing for interviews to re-entering the workforce through styling sessions, mentoring and ongoing professional development.
