On Saturday the 31st of August, the community united in a powerful demonstration of support for suicide prevention.

This year the ball was held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney, once again benefiting from the steadfast sponsorship of Stanford Brown. The night of fundraising was fortunate to have well-known news presenter Mark Ferguson as the Master of Ceremonies.

A glamorous evening of fine food, wine, entertainment, and dancing awaited over 660 guests, showcasing a stunning display of evening gowns and tuxedos. The event was attended by local politicians including Member for Berowra Julian Leeser, Member for the North Shore Felicity Wilson, Mayor of Willoughby City Tanya Tanya, Hornsby Shire Councillor Sallianne McClelland, Willoughby City Councillor Robert Samuel, and Willoughby City Councillor Nic Wright, among others.

Guests bid on a dazzling array of high-quality items via live and silent auctions, many wonderful prizes were on offer and one lucky couple picked out the key taking home a 1.2 carat oval cut diamond worth $9,000 donated by Jonathan Jacobson, Diamond and Pearl Traders.

The guest speaker for the evening was Dr. Justin Coulson, who shared the story of his nephew Logan’s tragic suicide.

“Every day in Australia, nine people die by suicide. And for every death, it is estimated that there are another 30 attempts,” says Elizabeth Lovell, Lifeline H2H Sydney CEO. “What an amazing night celebrating the amazing work we do at Lifeline and supporting the vital work we do.  We are so grateful to the people who attended, the impactful speakers, generous donors, sponsors and volunteers on the night.

People are our superpower. Every part of our organisation is driven by incredible people, whose passion and commitment are evidenced in our impact.”

The Post was proud to be a gold sponsor of the ball.

“We eagerly anticipate this special night, as it allows us to support Lifeline H2H and the invaluable assistance they provide to our community, while also enjoying a memorable evening with friends,” says Tina Brown, Publisher of The Post.
