ANZAC Day 2026: Guide to Services in Hornsby, Berowra & Ku-ring-gai

Welcome to our April edition. As the golden hues of autumn settle over the Upper North Shore, there is a distinct sense of community spirit in the air.

Our Editor Claudia Butjerevic is taking some leave and I am delighted to introduce two fresh faces to The Post family. We have officially onboarded two talented intern journalists, Oscar Simons and Anotida Makurumidze. They have truly hit the ground running, bringing a wonderful energy to the newsroom. You will see their contributions throughout this edition.

This month is always a poignant one as we prepare to commemorate Anzac Day. It is a time to pause, reflect, and honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served, ensuring their legacies continue to shape our local identity.

Speaking of community highlights, March was a whirlwind of inspiration. It was an absolute pleasure to attend several local events for International Women’s Day. The stories of resilience and leadership I encountered were deeply moving, and I’ve shared a more personal reflection on those celebrations further along in this issue.

For those looking to expand their horizons this season, we are proud to showcase the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community College course guide for Term 2. Whether you are looking to pick up a new hobby, sharpen a professional skill, or simply meet like-minded neighbours, there is an incredible variety on offer.

Looking further ahead, it’s already time to mark your calendars for a marquee event in our social and philanthropic calendar. Early bird tickets are now available for the Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney Gala Ball, which will be held in August. This is always a spectacular evening that supports the vital, life-saving work Lifeline performs in our region.

Finally, I am thrilled to announce the launch of our newest publication dedicated entirely to Aged Care and Disability. This specialized guide will be hitting the community in the second week of April. It is a project close to our hearts, designed to provide essential resources and support for families navigating these sectors.

As we head into the break, I wish you all a very safe school holiday period and a wonderful Easter filled with quality family time.
