On Wednesday 20 August, Magpies Waitara was buzzing with energy as around 160 people gathered for Community Pitch 2025, an evening that has quickly become one of the most anticipated events on the local calendar.

Hosted by Community Bank Lindfield, the  night brought together 38 local businesses, organisations, and community-minded individuals who pledged their support to 10 incredible community groups, resulting in a record-breaking $89,500 raised.

From the moment the first community group took the stage, the room was filled with warmth, generosity, and a palpable sense of purpose. Attendees leaned in as groups shared heartfelt stories, from youth mentoring, grief support, and disability inclusion to domestic violence services and the bushfire brigade. Each story highlighted the profound impact of community support, reminding everyone in the room just how much is at stake.

The atmosphere was a-buzz as Pitch Partners pledged their support in the room, with cheers, applause and even tears.

“Community Pitch is more than fundraising,” said Michele Ferris, Branch Manager of Community Bank Lindfield. “It’s about connection, people uniting for something bigger than themselves.”

10 Community Groups Supported

  • Dom’s Place
  • Dreams2Live4
  • Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter
  • Ku-ring-gai Bush Fire Brigade
  • Mary’s House Services
  • National Centre for Childhood Grief
  • PCYC Hornsby Ku-ring-gai
  • Social Local Collective
  • Studio ARTES
  • The Village Chef

By the end of the evening, after pledges were tallied, each group left the event with funding secured to move their projects forward.

A Growing Legacy

Since its inception in 2019, Community Pitch has grown into more than just an event, it’s a celebration of what’s possible when a community comes together.

Each year, the spirit of generosity builds, creating lasting change for groups that directly touch local lives. As the night drew to a close, one thing was clear: the impact of Community Pitch 2025 will ripple through the Ku-ring-gai and Hornsby communities for years to come. We look forward to Community Pitch 2026!
