Welcome to the September edition of The Post.
First off, an announcement and some exciting news: I am the new Editor for The Post.
Though you may have seen my name littered throughout our newsmagazine for a while, I’d like to take the time to introduce myself.
I’m Claudia Butjerevic. Don’t fret – it’s a tough one to pronounce.
I’ve been working for The Post since mid-2022. First as an intern, then as a freelancer, and finally a journalist. A shock perhaps, but I’m actually a Hills Shire girl – living on the cusp of Hornsby. Though, covering the local communities and councils, I’m now quite certain I know more about the North Shore than my own area, and as such, I’ve named myself an honorary resident.
I would like to thank Tina Brown for her valuable guidance and mentorship throughout my time with The Post, and more so, the thrilling opportunity to take over as Editor.
Enough about me, though. Our September edition is stacked.
When you flip through, you’ll see a section entirely dedicated to the Local Government Elections for the areas of Hornsby Shire, Ku-ring-gai, North Sydney, Willoughby, and the Northern Beaches. We’ve profiled council and mayoral candidates, listed the candidates for your convenience, and our Publisher, Tina, has written an opinion run-down of the most pressing concerns of each LGA.
In this edition, Tina Brown and I had the privilege of speaking with the Honourable Philip Ruddock at Council Chambers. We bid him farewell in a tribute article found in our “News” pages.
We’ve included a piece about Lindfield & Districts Community Bank’s 2024 Community Pitch. Being a Pitch Partner for the event, The Post were happy to support the wonderful businesses and local initiatives.
In closing, I want to wish all our wonderful dads a Happy Father’s Day. Kick your feet up, men! Your children love you.
