Along Peats Ferry Road in Hornsby, bridal couture brand Geraldinne Style has become a staple in the fashion arena.
Though having made a home in the hub of Hornsby, Geraldinne Style first began internationally in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Since 1994, this bridal and formal fashion brand has been handcrafting signature gowns from quality, imported European fabrics.
With a wealth of knowledge, designer and model Geraldinne Lima has honed her skills to piece together the perfect, individually crafted dress for every bride. At the youthful age of 20, Geraldinne opened her first boutique and has continued to create for over three decades.
When a bride comes in looking for a custom wedding dress to be made exactly to her liking, Geraldinne will sit down and discuss the vision, the style, the budget, the non-negotiables, what works best on each bride’s body, and all the in betweens. Then, she will sketch her ideas down into a rough draft, and revisit with the bride to adjust.
Trending right now in the bridal space are ballgowns, with Victorian corsets, and soft 3D florals. Alongside crafting bridal gowns, Geraldinne Style custom designs bridesmaids, mother of the groom, and mother of the bride dresses. Groomsmen suits, flower girl dresses, and page boy kits are also available to buy.
‘Blush colours and pale blues are in fashion, the bridal trend of the year,’ says Geraldinne. ‘For Mother of, it’s ore what they are looking for and the style that suits their body shapes… Usually, mothers go for colours like navy or burgundy. I work with your skin tone and colour coordination for the whole bridal party.’
Geraldinne recommends beginning your bridal styling 16 months before the wedding, as crafting dresses from scratch takes time, especially if the whole bridal party are having custom gowns made.
