Guided by Bradfield: Championing Your Voices in Canberra

Here to champion your voice in Canberra

It’s always inspiring to see what makes Bradfield such a special community, and my job is to make sure your voices are heard in Canberra.

Recently, that’s meant championing a Willoughby resident’s letter in Parliament about the local impact of NDIS cuts, speaking up for parents affected by the sudden closure of KU Chatswood, bringing university students’ frustrations about mid-degree course cuts directly to the government, and backing a private member’s bill for safer e-bike standards after hearing your safety concerns.

I’ve also been pushing for reforms that ease cost-of-living pressures, strengthen our economy, and tackle climate change—because what happens nationally affects all of us locally.

Back home, celebrating the energy, talent, and generosity of Bradfield never gets old. From the Emerge Festival in Chatswood, which showcased local

artists’ creativity, to cheering on Gordon FC’s thrilling grand final victory at Darnley Oval, the community spirit is infectious.

I’ve joined inspiring events like Lifeline’s Sapphire Gala Ball, supporting vital mental health services, and Ku-ring-gai Council’s Sustainable Futures Day Fair, where families explored innovative ideas for a greener future.

Recognising achievement is always a highlight, whether at the Ku-ring-gai Netball Association’s awards ceremony, the Mayoral Dinner for Hornsby Ku-ring-gai RFS, or the NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Grassroots initiatives like the Keep Squash Open Day in Willoughby and the Community Bank Lindfield Pitch bring local ideas to life, while countless citizenship ceremonies and pop-up offices let me hear directly from you about what matters most to our community.

Your stories guide my work in Canberra. If you have thoughts on upcoming legislation such as social media safety, environmental reform, or other local concerns, reach out—my team and I are always here to help. As an independent, I’m guided by Bradfield, not a party.

See you out there,

Nicolette
