New principals are arriving at St Ives Public and St Ives High School.
For St Ives Public, Kelly McGowan will become principal following her role as Deputy Principal at St Ives North Public School.
For St Ives High School, Tracey Casey, former Principal at Sydney Secondary College, Leichhardt Campus, is the new principal.
Combined, both women have more than 50 years of experience in the education sector and in leadership positions.
Ms McGowan says, “As the new principal, I’m aiming to keep that excitement for learning and make sure our students are accepting of everybody and can work in harmony.”
Separated by a fence, St Ives High and St Ives Public often see crossover between students and families. Together, the schools are focused on a seamless transition from Kindergarten through to Year 12.
Mrs Casey says, “I’m keen to make sure students and staff have a strong connection to St Ives High School so the students can do their best learning.”
Mrs Casey says, “While I’m getting to know the school and community, I know that our proximity to each other gives a great opportunity to work closely with Kelly and her teachers.”
