In this edition, I’m pleased to share with you a much-awaited story we broke on the March 4th regarding Ku-ring-gai Council’s exquisite outing amidst a cost-of-living crisis.
I would like to thank Claudia Butjerevic for her hard work and dedication in bringing this story to our community. You will not find this story anywhere else.
Every action has it’s consequences and it’s thanks to Councillor Barbara Ward’s words on International Women’s Day that led my decision to draw further attention to the story on the front page of this edition.
The Post has observed that several Facebook pages, touted as being there for the community, refused to run the story when we dropped it online. I find this to be anti-democratic, and now question the motives of the page administrators and what their purpose is across the community.
The purpose of public interest independent journalism is to hold those in power to account for their actions and choices. In this edition, we are calling on those of you who value the publication to shout Claudia a coffee as a way of showing your support for democracy, hyperlocal journalism, and appreciation. We’ve included a QR code within the edition for donation.
On Friday 8th March, The Post held a wonderful event at Magpies Waitara, where the attention to detail is always appreciated, and we raised funds for the Ku-ring-gai Youth Development Service. I’d like to thank all of the supporters and you can read about how the day went in the community pages.
April is ANZAC Day and there will be many events taking place across the North Shore and Beaches as we remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice.
