The Northern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (NSROC) convened its “Doing Density Well” Forum on 10 November, bringing local leaders, planners and policymakers together.
The forum focused on how to increase housing supply without sacrificing the character and liveability of local communities.
In attendance were Mayors and Councillors from Mosman, Willoughby City, Hornsby Shire, Ku-ring-gai, Lane Cove, Hunters Hill, City of Ryde, and North Sydney. Alongside local government officials, NSW Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully, local MPs, and industry figures were present.
Panellists included Professor Maria Kangas of Macquarie University and David Morrissey from the Northern Sydney Local Health District.
‘Councils will continue to work with other levels of government to facilitate housing supply alongside the infrastructure and services our communities need and expect, now and into the future,’ said NSROC President and Willoughby City Council Mayor Tanya Taylor.
