Nominations are open for the 2025 Local Westfield Heroes program.
Each year, Westfield awards $20,000 to one Local Hero at each Westfield location for the organisation or group they represent. The Heroes are individuals who are dedicated to contributing positively to their communities.
In total, 126 grants are up for grabs and over $1.2 million will be awarded.
Among the Local Hero alumni is 2024 Westfield Hero, Sian Gordon.
Sian is a team leader at the not-for-profit organisation, The Burdekin Association.
‘My CEO put me forward for it, I really didn’t do much,’ said Sian, speaking about her initial nomination. ‘I won and it was a shock to be honest… it was unexpected, but I was so pleased, it was such a huge boost for us.’
Winning allowed Burdekin to provide personalised care for individuals in need — to brighten their spirits and lessen their load.
