I can’t believe another year has passed and a new one is already on the horizon. 2025 has been unforgettable for me, and I’m deeply grateful for the friendships and connections I’ve been fortunate and truly blessed to make.
First and foremost, I want to thank our amazing Editor, Claudia Butjerevic. This year, she delivered exceptional work for The Post: our election coverage, a memorable International Women’s Day event celebrating female leaders in our community, our fifth-anniversary coverage, the Community Bank of Lindfield’s Community Pitch, the Lifeline Sapphire Gala Ball, the tenth anniversary of the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter, and a whole host of community events and annual giveaways.
And of course, the most joyful news of all: Claudia married her high-school sweetheart, Nick, last month. Their wedding was truly unforgettable. I was deeply touched to see a special edition of The Post featuring their engagement photo on the cover placed at every setting. Congratulations to Claudia and Nick; I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness.
This year we also welcomed several new contributors. It has been wonderful to bring on our award-winning cartoonist, Steve Panozzo as Arts Columnist, along with well-known Hornsby Shire Councillor Janelle McIntosh. Allan Shi joined us as our new political and education writer, and a heartfelt thank-you goes to Karen Humphries, who wrote for us in the latter part of the year. Her work on cholangiocarcinoma has been truly inspiring and will resonate for generations.
For the first time in 2026, you will be able to pick up your free calendar at all of our popular locations. The 2026 calendar celebrates all things local and is sponsored by local businesses and we thank them for their contribution. A special thank you to Steve Panozzo for his artistic talents featured on the front cover showcasing everything we love about our area and the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community College for their beautiful artworks which make the calendar pop.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe, joyful holiday season. We look forward to bringing you even more from our incredible community in 2026.
