With the abolition of the seat of North Sydney, Kylea Tink’s future was up in the air and rife with speculation. In December, Ms Tink announced she will not be running for a seat in the House of Representatives at the upcoming 2025 federal election, and will instead be wholeheartedly supporting the community independent movement.

‘When everyday Australians come together, we can drive real change – not just for our electorates, but for the nation.  It has been one of the privileges of my life to represent my community of North Sydney and help drive the community-independent movement forward,’ says Kylea Tink.

At a community event in Chatswood in December, Member Tink and Independent candidate Nicolette Boele announced their future plans. Ms Boele praised the work of Kylea Tink in her time as the North Sydney Member.

‘Kylea Tink is a formidable representative for the people of North Sydney and a powerful advocate of the community independent movement. She has achieved so much and shown how effective true community representation can be,’ says Nicolette Boele.

Kylea Tink endorsed Nicolette Boele’s campaign:

‘I encourage everyone who lives in Bradfield and cares about climate change, our housing and cost of living crises, and in creating a fairer, more prosperous Australia where the parliament truly does represent the people who it is meant to represent, to also vote for Nicolette.’
