Key Takeaways: Member's Update

  • Cost of Living: A primary focus on practical relief, including easing supermarket pressures and simplifying rules to help small businesses thrive.
  • Climate Action: Prioritising smart solutions that lower power bills and increase energy security while protecting the environment for future generations.
  • Housing Reform: Advocating for a housing market that ensures new homes are affordable and integrated with necessary infrastructure and green spaces.
  • Stay Informed: Residents are encouraged to connect via social media and the "Boele-tin" for monthly updates on parliamentary advocacy and local outcomes.

Welcome to 2026! For many of us, the world feels quite unsettled right now — which is why taking care of one another matters more than ever.

A safe and welcoming community doesn’t happen by itself – it’s something we build together every day. So, let’s look out for each other. It’s what Australians do.

As your federal representative, I’m heading into the year focused on a few clear priorities that I know matter deeply across our community.

First, cost of living relief. People who work hard should be able to get ahead, not just get by. A fair economy should help households manage day-to-day costs while supporting small businesses to thrive. I’m focused on practical, sensible steps – easing pressures at the supermarket, simplifying rules for small businesses, and backing our local economy.

Second, climate action. Taking climate change seriously isn’t just about protecting the environment – it’s about lowering power bills, increasing energy security, and safeguarding the places we love for future generations. Smart climate solutions can deliver real savings to households now, while building a more resilient future for our kids and grandkids.

Third, housing. Too many of us are being priced out of the communities we love. Fixing our broken housing market requires more than just building homes. It means ensuring new homes are built to be affordable, with the right infrastructure and green spaces – we want our neighbourhoods to grow in ways that ensure they stay liveable and loved.

I’m looking forward to returning to Canberra to listen, advocate, and demand outcomes that reflect our community’s needs.

The best way to stay up to date is through my social media channels, and through the Boele-tin – my monthly update on what I’ve been working on and what’s coming next.
