This June, Sydney will transform into a playground of light, music, and ideas – but this year, the glow at Tumbalong Park is shining for a deeper cause. Foodbank NSW & ACT has been named the official Charity Partner for Vivid Sydney 2026, marking a powerful collaboration between the Harbour City’s most iconic festival and its largest food relief organisation.
From 22 May to 13 June, Vivid Sydney will celebrate the state’s cultural vibrancy through 23 nights of immersive experiences.
Minister for Jobs and Tourism Steve Kamper notes that beyond the artistic spectacle, the festival serves a vital social purpose. “We know cost-of-living pressures are driving more Australians to seek help,” Kamper said, highlighting how this partnership fosters equity and meaningful social outcomes for communities across NSW.
The Scale: Foodbank currently supports a massive network of over 700 community partners and 900 schools, meeting historic highs in demand for food assistance as one in three households face food insecurity.
Interactive Learning: At Tumbalong Park, a fun, immersive truck-packing light installation will allow visitors to experience the logistics of food relief firsthand, inviting them to be part of the solution.

As Festival Director Brett Sheehy AO emphasizes, the event is driven by a clear purpose to enhance accessibility and support vital state-wide work.
Owned and produced by Destination NSW, Vivid Sydney 2026 will draw millions of visitors, powering the night-time economy while inviting the community to stand with Foodbank so that together, we can “go where hunger is.”
