MAYORAL elections took place at the end of September. Much did not change for the Northern Beaches and North Sydney.
Councillor Sue Heins, who represents the Curl Curl Ward, was re-elected as the Mayor for the Northern Beaches. Councillor Georgia Ryburn from the Manly Ward was appointed as Deputy Mayor. Both positions will be held until the next Mayoral election in September, 2024.
‘While I have been in the position for a short time, I am humbled that my fellow Councillors have confidence and trust in me to continue as Mayor,’ says Mayor Sue Heins. ‘I look forward to getting on with the job and working with all my colleagues to achieve great things over the next year.’
North Sydney Council re-elected Councillor Zoe Baker, representing the St Leonard’s Ward, as Mayor. Councillor William Bourke of the St Leonard’s Ward was additionally elected as Deputy Mayor. Both Mayor Baker and Deputy Mayor Bourke will serve in these positions until September of 2024, when the Local Government Elections are to take place.
‘I am so grateful for the faith you have placed in me and beyond grateful to be able to serve with a group of councillors who have worked constructively and collaboratively to place community interest above personal interest,’ says Mayor Baker.
