What an incredible first six weeks it has been as your Federal MP. With Parliament not starting until late July, I’ve had plenty of opportunity to get out and about in the community and continue hearing what makes the people of Bradfield tick, and what keeps you up at night.
One highlight was attending the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai 2025 Business of the Year Awards. It was so great to see the Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai Business Chambers recognise and celebrate the incredible small businesses that not only drive our local economy, but also enrich our communities and culture. Well done to all the finalists and winners!
The Lifeline Book Fair was also a treat for this booklover – the biggest book fair in Sydney! Nothing but pre-loved books, CDs and vinyl as far as the eye could see.
There have also been visits to local aged care facilities, meetings with the Salvation Army and local Police Commands, briefings from sporting organisations, Rotary dinners, the re-launch of Gidget House at North Shore Private Hospital, and an address at the launch of the Link Wentworth’s No Place Like Home exhibition.
I’ve held Pop-Up Offices at Gordon, Artarmon and Turramurra where curious constituents were keen to chat about issues as diverse as electrifying homes, the housing crisis, international trade opportunities, childcare issues, aged care workers and more.
And of course, I headed to Canberra for New MP School, where I met my new colleagues in the House of Representatives, and was inducted into the ways of the home of our democracy.
Most importantly though, our electoral office in Lindfield is up, running and open for business. My team and I are here to help with any difficulties you may be having with visas, passports, Australian Tax Office issues, Centrelink, the NDIS, My Aged Care and more.
See you around the streets of Bradfield soon.
