Sydney’s Blues Point Reserve will this year be ticketed for New Year’s Eve entry.
Tickets are priced at $50 per person plus booking fees.
North Sydney Mayor Zoë Baker defended the move, explaining that by implementing “cost-recovery ticketing” residents aren’t left footing the bill for large-scale events. ‘Blues Point offers one of the best vantage points anywhere on the harbour,’ she said.
While Blues Point Reserve will be ticketed and restricted to attendees from 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. on New Year’s Eve. Other free designated viewing sites in the North Sydney area include Bradfield Park, Mary Booth Reserve, and Lavender Bay Parklands.
In Mosman, Bradleys Head: Athol Lawn, Bradleys Head: Mast Precinct, and Bradleys Head Amphitheatre. In Manly, North Head and Manly Cove offer vantage points of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House for NYE celebrations.
