Mosman Councillor Carolyn Corrigan has received the Metropolitan Elected Representative Award at the 2025
Ministers’ Awards for Women in Local Government. The award was presented at NSW Parliament House by Minister for Local Government Ron Hoenig and Minister for Women Jodie Harrison.
‘I feel honoured to be acknowledged by the NSW government with this award and delighted to continue witnessing significant increases, over the past 13 years, in the number of women being elected to represent their local communities,’ says Cr Corrigan. ‘I strongly believe in the positive power of more women in local government.’
Cr Corrigan said she was honoured by the recognition and proud to see women elected to local government over the past decade. She dedicated the award to her late father, Dr Brian Corrigan, and mentor Professor Anne Keogh for their guidance and inspiration.
Elected to Mosman Council in 2012 and serving as the area’s first popularly elected female Mayor from 2017 to 2024, Cr Corrigan is also the founder of the Mosman Walk for Women, an event advocating to end violence against women and children. She continues to serve as Councillor, mentoring future community leaders.
