Living through cancer changes you. But what comes next can be just as uncertain. After the
initial diagnosis—or even after the final appointment, the ringing bell, and the well wishes—there’s often a quiet question that lingers: What now?
That’s the question we’re answering with the What Now Survivorship Program, a new initiative launched by the Northern Sydney Cancer Centre and CanSupport. It’s about more than recovery — it’s about rediscovery. How do we live well, not just longer? How do we care for ourselves and others, body and mind?
On Saturday 23rd August, we’re inviting you to join us at Hornsby Library (Room 4) from 1:00pm – 4pm for an afternoon of inspiration, information, and connection. This free event is open to survivors, carers, and anyone navigating life during, and after cancer.
Together with Caelum Davis from CanSupport, we’ll be sharing how What Now equips both survivors and carers with tools to manage emotional wellbeing, physical health, and daily life. A representative from Hornsby Relay for Life will talk about their events. And we are thrilled to be joined by Nicole Hughes from Carer Gateway, who’ll discuss essential support available for those who care so deeply.
You’ll also have the chance to take part in a guided mindfulness activity—one of the simple but powerful practices we introduce in our workshops. Because survivorship is not just a destination. It’s a practice. A way of being.
This program is about putting tools in your toolbox. It’s about community, clarity, and care. Most
of all, it’s about recognising that survivorship deserves its own chapter—one filled withmeaning, strength, and yes, even joy.
