Lane Cove Council presents the inaugural St Leonards Lunar Laneways, a new street festival to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
This free, family-friendly event will be held on Saturday 28 February on Canberra Avenue and Marshall Lane at Wadanggari Park, just a short walk from St Leonards Station.
In partnership with the Korean Cultural Centre, the 2026 program will showcase Korean culture with night food stalls, live K-Pop and gugak music performances, lantern and light displays, cultural games, art installations, and interactive workshops.
‘St Leonards Lunar Laneways is a celebration of culture, community and connection. This event brings people together in our streets to enjoy the vibrancy of Lunar New Year, support local businesses, and showcase the diversity that makes Lane Cove such a welcoming place,’ said Lane Cove Mayor Merri Southwood.
The event is funded by the NSW Government’s Open Streets Program, led by Transport for NSW. Lane Cove Council secured $331,500 through the program.
The Open Streets program temporarily transforms [streets] into vibrant, community-focused spaces, bringing people together, supporting local businesses, and celebrating the unique character of towns and suburbs across NSW,’ says Minister for Transport, John Graham.
